Hi @Sweeter28,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you are facing issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One Printer wherein you get a thick black line down leftside while making a copy.
In order to isolate the issue, I suggest that you try making a copy from the Automatic Document Feeder(ADF) as well as the flatbed scanner and check if the line is present on both the copies. If the line is present only while copying from the ADF then it could be because of the dust particle on the glass strip beside the flatbed scanner glass. You need to clean the glass strip with the damp cloth and then with a dry cloth and make a copy from ADF.
If the issue persists in both the ADF and flatbed scanner, then it is a hardware issue with the scanner component.
Let's go through a few steps that may help to fix this issue.
And here are a few steps in the link: Improving Copy Quality
Let me know if this works.
You have a good day ahead.
