My Envy laptop has an Officejet Pro 8710 printer app which works fine and communicates information to the laptop on the current condition of the printer.  But then when I try to print a Word document or PDF file I get an error message that the printer is not hooked up to the network.  The printer works just fine with my iPhone and my wife's computer so connectivity of the printer to the network is not a problem.  I think it's a windows problem of some sort but need help running appropriate test to see what's wrong.  Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

Uninstall and reinstall the Word and PDF and see if that helps.
