Hoping someone can help me. I have the HP Officejet 4650 all-in-one series, and I have a mac OS Monterey 12.7.6 . One day the printer just stopped printing. I put new ink in, and the paper goes through. I can hear everything working, but the page is blank. I know it's an older machine but hoping I can figure out how to keep it going. Thoughts?

@Babar11, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet 4650 is going through the motions of printing but producing blank pages. This issue is fairly common and can usually be resolved with a few troubleshooting steps. Let’s walk through them:
Check Ink Cartridge Health
Even if the cartridges are new, they might not be functioning properly.
Use the printer’s control panel to print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page:
- On the printer, go to Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report.
- If this page is also blank or missing colors, it confirms a cartridge or printhead issue.
Check for protective tape on the cartridges (if newly installed).
Clean the printhead:
- On the printer: Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead.
- You may need to run this 2–3 times.
Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver
macOS Monterey may require updated drivers or a reinstall.
Remove the printer from your Mac:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click the minus (-) button.
Download and install the latest driver using HP Easy Start:
- Visit 123.hp.com and enter OfficeJet 4650.
- Download HP Easy Start, run it, and follow the prompts to reinstall the printer.
Use AirPrint (if available)
macOS supports AirPrint, which often works better than HP drivers.
- When adding the printer back in Printers & Scanners, choose the AirPrint driver from the “Use” dropdown instead of HP driver.
Firmware Update
Outdated firmware can cause printing issues.
- Visit the HP OfficeJet 4650 support page and check for firmware updates compatible with macOS.
Try Printing from HP Smart App
Sometimes the HP Smart app can bypass driver issues.
- Download it from the Mac App Store or HP Smart
- Add your printer and try printing a test page.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
