Hi @Bmanlcj

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're encountering an error with your brand new printer, where a small flashing red light is showing, and it displays the error code E 0. This typically indicates a problem that needs to be addressed.

Here are a few steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Check for Paper Jam

  • A flashing red light often indicates a paper jam or obstruction in the printer.
  • Power off your printer and open the paper tray and rear access panel (if applicable) to look for any jammed paper or debris.
  • Carefully remove any stuck paper or objects, and then close all panels and trays before turning the printer back on.

2. Check the Ink Cartridges

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly and securely.
  • Make sure the protective tape has been removed from the cartridges.
  • Reinstall the ink cartridges if needed and ensure they are placed properly.

3. Reset the Printer

A reset can sometimes resolve minor issues:

  • Power off your printer.
  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug the printer back in and power it on.

4. Check the Paper Tray

  • Ensure that the paper tray is loaded properly. Sometimes, if the paper is not aligned or overfilled, it can trigger a red light.
  • Make sure the paper is not too thick, too thin, or curled.

5. Consult the Printer Manual

  • Refer to the user manual for your specific printer model to see what the E 0 error code means.
  • HP’s support page or the printer's manual will often have error code guides to assist with specific issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
