HP ENVY Pro 6430 All-in-One Printer

Hi,

My Envy Pro 6430 emits a high pitched whining noise constantly when it is on. I've updated the firmware but this has not made any difference. I've been putting up with it and turning off when it is not in use but the warranty is up soon and I'm wondering if there is a fault.

Could some-one give advice here?

thanks

Hi @MichaelM20,

I'd like to help!

I understand the printer makes high pitched noise when turned ON

Try the below suggestions-

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, check for jams and broken parts in the printer -https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4595069-4595116-16

If the issue persists, I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for that, Michael.

Thought I was a bit crazy - but after reading this I went searching around the office - and yes:

I have the same problem, although my model is the 6432. The noise seems to come from the built-in power supply in the printer, firmware updates and resets didn't help (as expected).

I don't think HP can fix this somehow (except by changing printer models).

Greetings,

Christoph
