HP Deskjet 3630
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

Hello, I have a cheap deskjet that for some reason stopped printing wirelessly.  We rarely use and due to having Sonos and other stuff we have an overcrowded home network, so wanted to get this printer off the wi fi entirely since it is not in use wirelessly (and we can just connect via usb when we need it).

How can I turn the wireless radio off on this model?  I try to do it from the limited buttons on the printer itself but its still visible as a device on the network.

Thank you.

@JK1111

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand you want information on disabling the wireless network,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did you forgot the printer on your device detecting the wireless devices?

If not, please do as that's the only way to stop your computer from auto-connecting to the printer,

Also, make sure you disable the "Connect automatically" option under wireless connections.

That said, I'm afraid there's no such option to turn off the printer from showing up the device on the wireless connections during a scan.

If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

To turn on or off the wireless capability of the printer

Press the Wireless button ( ) to turn on or off the printer wireless capabilities.

● If the printer has an active connection to a wireless network, the Wireless light is on solid blue, and the
printer display shows the Wireless icon and the Signal Bars icon.
