Hi I have an HP office jet pro 8600, I've purchased new ink. Thinking that might be the problem but keep getting this message - "There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists contact HP." I turned it off and on several times and still get this message

Hi @Long24 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already taken a few troubleshooting steps, which is a good start. Here are some additional steps you can try to get your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 working again:
Check for Ink Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the new ink cartridges are properly installed. Sometimes, they might not be seated correctly, leading to errors. Remove and reinsert them carefully.
Clean Contacts: Ink cartridge contacts and printer contacts can sometimes get dirty or covered with ink residue. Gently clean them with a lint-free cloth dampened with water or isopropyl alcohol.
Update Firmware/Drivers: Make sure your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues with new ink cartridges. Update the firmware on an HP printer
Reset Printer: Try performing a hard reset of the printer. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on.
Check for Paper Jams: Even if the error message doesn't mention it, paper jams or obstructions inside the printer can cause various errors. Open the printer and check for any stuck paper or debris.

I hope this helps.
