Is there a way to reset the estimated ink levels on the HP 7525 Photosmart AIO Printer? I use only authentic HP 564 ink cartridges. The levels do not register correctly as I reinstalled a used HP 564 cartridge.

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I would like to inform you that if you are using used cartridges the ink levels may not show correctly. That’s said, I recommend you try the below steps and check if it helps.
- Remove both the black and the color ink cartridges from your printer.
- Press the 'On' button on your printer to turn it on, wait 20 seconds, then turn it off. Allow the printer to completely turn off.
- Insert back the cartridges inside the printer.
- Check the Ink levels.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

I have to turn on the printer first to remove the ink cartridges. Should I leave the printer on then press the on button, wait 20 seconds then power off. Please clarify your instructions.

Tried the steps in your latest message to try and reset the estimated ink levels on my HP Photosmart 7525 AIO Printer using 564xl ink cartridges. Your steps did not change the ink levels. I even tried powering down the printer, pulled out all cartridges, and also pulled out the power cable. Left the printer in this condition for 5 minutes then plugged the printer back in, powered it up and inserted all of the ink cartridges. Still no change in the estimated ink levels. Got any other good ideas to resolve this problem? Please advise. Thanks. Gary McDougall, gmacmail@aol.com.

Attached is a screen shot of the Estimated Ink Levels. New Ink Cartridges have been inserted for Black, Yellow, Cyan and Magenta. The Black Photo Cartridge was about 1/3 full at last ink real level that displayed. Printer is now printing bad images for color. Black prints seem normal. Maybe, there is something going wrong with this HP Photosmart 7525 printer. It prints a couple of pages correctly after several cleaning actions. Any thoughts?

Thank you for the information.
Looks like you are not using HP genuine cartridges and that is the reason why the ink levels are not showing correctly. However, I recommend you try the below steps and check if it helps.
- Power off your printer. Start it back and connect to the system via the USB cable.
- Click ‘Start’ menu on your PC to open it. Then, click the ‘Control Panel,’ followed by the ‘Printer and Faxes.’
- Search your HP Printer icon along with its model number. Click on this icon right side and then ‘Properties’ via the pop-up list.
- Click on the ‘Services’ tab and then choose the ‘Service This Device’ option.
- Choose the ‘Estimated Ink Level’ section, and then click the ‘Reset Ink Level’ option. Then the printer will display a refreshed ink cartridge level for your HP printer.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
