Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

You can use a USB cable to connect directly to your printer.  (do not plug in the USB cable first! Read on on how to add a new printer (connection))

You will need to install the software to add the additional connection.

Assuming you have installed the FULL feature software, follow these steps to add the USB connection:

1.  Go to Start . Programs > HP > HP Officejet Pro 8620 > Click on the printer

(alternatively, click on the printer icon on the desktop)

2. This will bring up the HP Printer Assistant

3. Go to "Tools" > Device Setup & Software

(note: this may be available in Step 1 : Device Setup and Software")

4. Connect a new printer.

5. DO NOT plug in the USB cable until prompted to do so by the software!

Once installed, the USB should be the Default printer.  If you want to print using wireless again, you will need to select the correct printer with the wireless connection accordingly.

Hope that helps!
