This will not let me specify my Mac OS or product Printer was working fine prior to firmware update.
Now using MacBook Air,  macOS Tahoe. Color LaserJet 2605dn. Powers on, but 2 error lights remain lit. Occasionally displays Ready. Cannot get reports or any output. I think an error code like 79 was generated, but that's not a valid format.

Code 79 will indicate a network communication issue in most cases. This is a very old laserjet and even when new were problematic and as they are now end of life, I don't expect quality of drivers to be any better, especially with newer versions of MAC OS. Search online for a service manual as you will likely find one and that might help you troubleshoot.
