envy 5530 series all-in-one

I usually use an old HP Deskjet 712C for printing cards created on PrintShop 15, but that one is low on ink so I switched to my HP Envy 5530 instead. Unfortunately, the cards print differently on the 5530 with narrower margins and different spacing, and I didn't like the look. After finding that changing the margins in the PrintShop program didn't help, I tried going to File--Print--Advanced--Print Alignment. Then I followed the instructions on the Printer Alignment screen to print a test page, entered new measurements on screen to correspond to those on the test page, and tried printing another card. The problem with the margins and spacing was even worse, so I went back to the Printer Alignment screen and clicked Reset thinking the measurements would change to what they'd been before. They changed but not back to the original ones, and I don't recall what they were. 

 

I've tried playing around with the measurements to no avail. At this point, I would just like to find out what the default settings were in the Printer Alignment screen before I messed around with them. I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks in advance.

As I understand you need help resetting the printer alignment settings,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details: 

Did you try resetting the printer?

 

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

       NOTE:

    HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

    The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

  9. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

If resetting the printer does not resolve the issue, continue to the next step.
