I had an error code telling me I had a paper jam. I looked everywhere. I didn’t. Internal messages printed okay. When I tried printing an external job is when it said paper jam. I was able to print copies, so I know there is no jam. Then I tried re-starting the printer and then turned it back on. It said I did not turn it off properly. I touched the off button and three days later still had not shut off. Then I got error code 0x61000004a. Contact HP.

Examine the vent area located on top of the ink cartridge, next to the HP logo. If any of the ink cartridges have clogged vents, use a pin to clean the vents. Use a fresh, lightly dampened, lint-free cloth to wipe any accumulated ink and debris on the copper-colored contact on the ink cartridge.
