Couldn't agree more.
I am not expecting the OfficeJet 6600 to have hardware support for duplex printing, but it "for some bizarre reason has removed manual duplexing support--a simple software feature that allows relatively easy two-sided printing on printers that lack an automatic duplexer--from the printer driver" (from PCWorld http://www.pcworld.com/article/257475/hp_officejet_6600_e_all_in_one_printer_review_no_duplexing_no_...)
Very disappointed with that. No wonder it gets thumbs down in the review (http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/printers/52368/hp-officejet-6600-review).

I found it a little labor intensive, but it works. 1. Number your pages. 2. Pull out all odd number original pages and place in the Auto feeder leading with the top of the page and printing side up. 3. Choose copy. 4. The copies come out with the header end toward you. 5. Turn them around (DON'T TURN THEM OVER). 6 Now reverse collate them. 7. Put them into the paper tray printed side up and top of pages into the paper tray. 8. Place all of the original even number pages with the header end into the Auto feeder printed side up. 9 Choose print. The printed copies are double sided (duplexed) now. 10. Put the originals back together. DanO

Trouble is 6600 doesn't have a duplex option for the Auto Feeder. You need to pull all odd pages from the orininals then print them from the Auto Feeder. Reverse collate the printed pages. Turn them around and insert into the feeder printed side up and header into the feeder. Now print all of the even number originals. You now have two sided copies. Lots of work, but I know it works.
