If your printer is the victim of spam as described in recent news reports and online articles, the attack has nothing at all to do with fax confirmation reports.
Instead, you are going to have to harden your defences at the point where your Internet traffic is entering your network. This usually means the router.
If you are asking about "spam" that is a result of you receiving printed content that was intended for someone else, the issue might be a result of someone having your printer's email address. If this is the case, then log into your HP Connected Account and - if you have not done so - set up so only "allowed" senders can access your printer's email. In addition, it might be an good idea to change your printer's email address to an address that you know is not compromised (known by other than those who should have access).
AND / OR
If you are asking about "spam" that is a result of random documents showing up on your printer that appear to belong to someone else, change your network Wireless password to keep your neighbors from using your Wireless network and your printer.
Printer spam is like other spam - in most cases, controlling it means controlling access to your network and even perhaps the physical access to the device.
