HP Color LaserJet MFP 3301fdw

We recently got a Hp Color LaserJet MFP 3301fdw printer and it was working fine. Then recently the low ink warnings came on but then this message began to start popping up. I restart the printer but the message will always come back.

"Printer Error Occurred. C1.BF.FC.0B

A critical system error has occurred. restart the printer and try again. If the problem persists, contact your support representative."

I have tried to research the error C1.BF.FC.0B but can not find any support on it. The printer is on the latest firmware 6.17.3.269-202405221647

Hi @mrtefo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code C1.BF.FC.0B on your HP Color LaserJet MFP 3301fdw typically indicates a problem with the printer's fuser or related components. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

**1. Power Cycle the Printer

Turn Off and Unplug:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds.

Plug Back In:

  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Sometimes, a simple power cycle can resolve temporary issues.

**2. Check for Paper Jams

Inspect the Paper Path:

  • Open all accessible doors and compartments to check for any paper jams or obstructions. Remove any jammed paper carefully.

Clear Any Obstructions:

  • Ensure there are no small bits of paper or other debris blocking the paper path.

**3. Inspect the Fuser and Toner Cartridges

Check the Fuser:

  • The fuser is a component that helps bond the toner to the paper. Inspect it for any visible damage or signs of wear. The fuser is usually located near the back of the printer.

Reinstall Toner Cartridges:

  • Remove and reinstall the toner cartridges to ensure they are properly seated. Sometimes, misalignment can cause errors.

**4. Update Printer Firmware

  1. Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Visit the HP support website and search for firmware updates for your printer model. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve error codes related to hardware.

**5. Perform a Factory Reset

  1. Reset the Printer:
    • Performing a factory reset can sometimes clear persistent errors. Follow the printer’s manual or settings menu to perform a factory reset. Be aware that this will erase all custom settings.

**6. Inspect Internal Components

  1. Check for Loose Connections:
    • If comfortable, open the printer and check for any loose or disconnected internal cables or components. Ensure everything is securely connected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I think the problem is firmware because…

I update the firmware first ( always on startup the machine)

all the errors come before print a single page on both new printer, in the scanning section

it is automatic with bed operation when used macOS before the 6th scan

it take a lot of scan to make it append in web scan

they are other error code append

I repeat …brand new printer twice ( I hope you’re printer of these model should run ok)

What was the solution that they gave and did it work? I tried the solutions that were given and it still brought up that Error code. This is a brand new printer that I installed last Wednesday. They have been having issues with errors since Friday. Please let me know of any other solutions to this issue.

Is the fuser involved in scanning? This is when I got this critical system error.

HP Recommended

Scanning has no connection to the fuser. The fuser is the component that heats up and bonds the toner to the paper when printing.

@Repairatrooper, that is what I thought. So why would a fuser related error be thrown when running a simple scan via the HP Smart Application? It makes no sense.

Regardless, I went through the recovery steps as shown on the printer screen and 'things' appear to be back to normal, except for the host of warning codes listed on the Event Log (2 & 1/2 pages) since the 'Critical System Event
