HP DeskJet 2624 All-in-One Printer

My HP Deskjet 2624 (all in one printer) has been giving printing problems for a while now. The following is the current status

  1. 1.  I have re-installed HP smart and it detects and adds the printer. But after adding the printer, it doesn't print a test page.
  2. Then the printer status changes to "Please connect printer to the internet". It also is not able to detect the ink cartridge levels.
  3. There is a flashing info button and a flashing envelope in the display that does not go away.
  4. I googled and found that flashing envelop could mean web services are not getting loaded. I reinstalled the whole software suite from the support page.
  5. I have tried resetting the printer a few times.(pressing Power and Cancel-3 seconds) , I have reset the wireless connection and added it back.  I have updated the drivers. I have installed HP Print and Scan doctor 5.6.6 and it detects the printer, runs the diagnostics and shows everything is okay... but cannot print test page. No prints are coming out.
  6. When I send a print job, the printer makes the noise acknowledging that the print job is received, but doesn't print. gives an error "error printing on HP721388 (HP Deskjet 2600 series).
  7. This might have started after I updated the firmware about a few months back. 
  8. I have tried printing from multiple computers.

 

Would appreciate if someone can provide suggestions to fix this problem. Am not able to use the printer.

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

I understand that you are unable to print from your computer, and I am glad to assist you.

Did you uninstall the printer driver from the root level before installing the new driver?

If not, follow these steps:-

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers. 
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and install the printer using HP Smart app
