Hp Ink Tank Wireless 415
macOS 10.14 Mojave

Hi,

I have two issues with this:

1. I've tried to set up the printer on my mac so many times, when I'm at last step of set up, "applying settings", it just stays there, loading.

Like this:

2. The printer is almost new, ink cartridges are full, and black ink on some parts is not printed correctly. LIke this:

@MelissaDeOna, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Try making a Black Photocopy and check if the issue persists.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for software updates on MAC

Click here to know how.

Make sure the Printer and the MAC are connected to the same wireless network. Print a Network Configuration Page

Press the Wireless button  and the Information button  at the same time.

Both a Network Configuration Page and a Wireless Network Test Results report print.

Install the printer using AirPrint

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

6.) Try to print.

Let me know how this goes.

Hi!

Thank you so much for this. I added the printer and was able to print one page.

However the issue with the black ink is persisting, I printed a copy of a page and blank ink had issues. I do not understand why this is happening as the black ink cartridge is full.

Thank you!

@MelissaDeOna

It seems like an issue with either the Black ink cartridge or the printhead of the printer. Let us try these steps that may resolve this issue:

Clean the printheads

  1. Search the Mac for Print, and then click Printers & Scanners in the list of results.

  2. Click the name of your printer, and then click Open Print Queue.

  3. Click Printer Setup or Settings, click Utility, and then click Open Printer Utility.

  4. Click Clean Printheads.

  5. Once the cleaning cycle completes, click Print.

A Print Quality Diagnostic page prints.

Note: If HP Utility is not available, download and install HP Utility from here

Check the print settings

  1. Open a document, click File, and then click Print.

    The Print window opens.

  2. Select the Paper Type/Quality or Media & Quality menu.

  3. Depending on your print job, you might consider modifying the following settings:

    • Paper type: If one of the options matches your paper type exactly, select that option.

    • Quality: If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, increase the print quality. To print more quickly, decrease the print quality.

To save your settings for future print jobs, select Save in the Presets menu, and then name the new preset.

Let me know how this goes.
