I returned this printer and bought another one HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 now to make things clear this printer is connected by USB and not wireless, it also would not print same symptons, two thing happened I realized perhaps the software is picking up the other printer HP OfficeJet Pro X576dw which is operated wireless I then disconnected that printer and started over after the reinstallation their were three updates from HP now everthing is working fine Yeah.

I do not know if it was disconnecting the other printer or the updates that made it work.

All is well now.

Thanks for your help and quick response.

Welcome to the HP Community @EdwardMeijer🙂

I read about how you cannot print from your Windows 10 system, and wanted to stop in to share my own ideas.

Try making a copy from the front of the printer to test the hardware. If copies work, the printer is fine.

Next from the PC, you can run the Print and Scan Dr. If the prints don't seem to work still, then completely uninstall and reinstall the printer on your computer. This will fix any HP printer driver related problems.

Good luck!

Yes I tried all that everything works it will even print a reports page, but it just won't print.

Uninstalled sofware and drivers rebooted computer, did a firmware update but no luck.

Tried to install on different computer same thing. We also have a HP OfficeJet Pro X576dw no problems with that one.

I have installed hundreds of printers but have never seen anything like this.

This is Windows 10 Enterprise with Office 2013.

It appears to be a software issue.

Hi again! 🙂

I would agree and say the issue is software related to your computer. The printer seems to be fine as it prints test reports.

Here are some other things to try. Click the link below and see under "Manual steps to solve the problem", and also try the 'other things to try' section if needed: Printer is Offline (Windows)

Most of the time, I see these steps being very successful. I hope they help your scenario too!:)

Have a great Monday!

I have exactly the same problem.  Reinstalled software through HP Doctor and firmware on printer.  It says it is printing, but it doesn't.  Frustrating, to say the least.

I have done all of these steps.  I have run Print & Scan Doctor and when it gets to the point of printing, it does not print and goes to internal printing and the test prints which means I have to uninstall the software.  I have unintalled multiple times and I still cannot print documents from Word, Excel and Quicken.  I have printed the HP Network Configuration Page and wireless is ready, connected with a good signall quality--5.  Also, I can copy using the printer.  This printer has worked fine in the past.  I am at a vacation home and was away for several months.  I replaced the ink with new HP cartridges.  I have tried to print using DSL and Wireless on my laptop.  I have powered down the modem and printer to no avail.  The printer is only a year old and over the last few days I am unable to get the printer to print my documents.  Please someone out there give me some advise and hope to fix this printing problem.
