Hello,
I have always refilled my ink cartdrige by myself and after three years I saw that the printer was a bit dirty with fallen ink. I had to clean it internally with some tissue but I didn't damage any part. Just used plain tissue to absorb the ink.
After this operation the printer is active like before but is not printing any color.
I suspect the printhead is dirty now and should be clean. How can I remove it and clean?
Can you indicate a tutorial on how to do it?
Thanks in advance
Frank

Welcome to the HP Support Community
HP Officejet 6800 Printers series does not have removable printhead.
Use an automated tool from the printer control panel to clean the printhead.
CAUTION:Never turn off the printer when ink cartridges are not installed. To avoid issues that require cleaning the printhead or that can damage the ink system, always replace ink cartridges as soon as possible, and always turn off the printer using the Power button.
-
Load plain white paper into the tray.
-
On the printer control panel, swipe the display to scroll to Setup, and then touch the Setup icon
.
-
Swipe the display to scroll to Printer Maintenance, and then touch Printer Maintenance.
-
Touch Clean Printhead.
A test page prints.
-
Examine the test page.
-
If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Clean Again to continue the next level of cleaning. If necessary, repeat these steps for the third cleaning cycle.
NOTE:
If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform all three levels of cleaning again.

Dear Raj, Thanks for the fast response. I repeated the automated print head cleaning many times. all the three levels. But the printer keeps on printing white pages. This is why I would like to clean it manually. Do you have any other suggestion? Best Frank
