My Hp OfficeJet Pro 8135e is stuck in a boot loop that I can't even get past thank to HP's new software interface. All the printer does now is turn on, run HP's new printer start up loading screen, then cycle between that screen and the Energy Star image. That's it. I was able to get past the screen one time and tried to reset the printer so the issue would permanently stop but it just started the looping all over again and now I can't use it at all. I give up, don't even know what to do at this point.

Hi @kwabs,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can feel your frustration. Being stuck in a boot loop with no way to access the printer is incredibly discouraging, especially after trying a reset. Let’s work through this together and see if we can revive your OfficeJet Pro 8135e.

This issue usually happens due to firmware corruption or an incomplete update. Here’s what you can try:

Step 1: Hard Power Reset

  1. Turn the printer OFF.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait 2–3 minutes.
  4. Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  5. Power it ON.

Step 2: Disconnect the Network

Boot loops can be triggered by network initialization:

  • Turn off your router or disconnect the printer from Wi-Fi (press and hold the Wireless button for 5 seconds if possible).
  • Restart the printer without a network.

Step 3: Force Firmware Update via USB

If the printer still loops, you’ll need to reflash the firmware:

(Even if the printer is looping, the update tool can often detect it in recovery mode.)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
