Hello, I recently bought the HP ENVY photo 7855 and hooked it up today via wireless. Immediately during setup it gave an error about the carriage being unable to move. I double checked that I had removed all of the tape and paper and tried again, and also I hear a grinding noise. Still got the error. So I tried to update the firmware. After updating the firmware, I get the same issue. I opened the printer and watched the carriage. It does move left, then right and gets stuck and then I hear the grinding noise.
I've attempted to hard reset multiple times, but no luck. I made sure I was directly using an outlet, which doesn't make any sense, but no luck. I've attempted to find the actuator arm, but the instructions don't work for this printer. Am I stuck returning this printer? Can it be fixed?

Hi @LeeJP1983,
If you have already performed the steps from the document 'Carriage Jam' or 'E3' Error Displays and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.
Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Hope this helps!
