Hi @Dhivas
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
Let's walk through some troubleshooting steps to identify and fix the problem.
Possible Causes and Solutions
1. Printer Error or Jam
- Paper Jam: A common cause of this type of behavior is a paper jam. Even a small piece of paper stuck inside the printer can cause it to stop working properly.
- Open the printer’s front and back panels (or any accessible areas) to check for any jammed paper.
- Remove any stuck paper carefully, ensuring there are no torn pieces left behind.
2. Check Printer Display for Error Codes
3. Printer Reset (Soft Reset)
Sometimes a simple reset can help clear temporary issues:
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the printer from the electrical outlet.
- Wait for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Check if the Information button is still glowing.
4. Check for Low Toner or Other Supply Issues
- Open the toner compartment and check if the toner cartridge is correctly installed and has enough toner.
- Replace the toner cartridge if it is empty or damaged.
Also, check if the printer is detecting other consumables like paper trays or fuser units, which might be causing an issue.
5. Check for Network/Connection Issues
- If connected via Wi-Fi, try restarting the router and reconnecting the printer to the network.
- If the printer is connected via USB, make sure the cable is securely plugged in and there are no issues with the port.
6. Firmware/Software Issue
- Firmware Update: Check if there are any available firmware updates for your printer on the HP Support website.
- Follow the instructions to update the printer’s firmware.
7. Printer Settings or Configuration Issue
- Reset Settings: Try performing a soft reset to restore the printer to factory defaults.
- To reset, turn the printer off, then press and hold the Resume button while turning the printer back on. Hold the button until the printer starts and check if it behaves differently.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
