I have every light going on. Unplugged overnight. Just plugged in and still have blinking lights.

@Mbuckner2025, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When all the lights are blinking, it typically indicates a critical error or hardware issue. Here are the steps you can follow to troubleshoot this:

Power Reset (Hard Reset)

This helps clear any residual charge or temporary error:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 2–3 minutes.
  • Press and hold the power button on the printer for 30 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it on.

Check if the lights stop blinking.

Check for Error Codes

If the printer shows a letter “E” followed by a number on the display, it’s an error code. Refer to the HP Smart Tank blinking lights guide to decode the error.

Update Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause system errors:

Check Printheads and Ink

  • Open the printer and inspect the printhead icons.
  • A blinking left icon = color printhead issue.
  • A blinking right icon = black printhead issue.
  • Remove and reseat the printheads if needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
