HP Smart Tank 5105 All-in-One Printer

I have a hp smart tank 5100 series and I’m unable to print it keeps telling me printer is busy, I’ve unplugged it from the mains and the back of the printer and no luck.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer won’t cooperate. Let’s get this sorted out together!

Since you’ve already tried unplugging the printer, let’s go through a few more troubleshooting steps:

 

Check for Stuck Print Jobs:

  • On your computer, open the Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP Smart Tank 5100 series and select See what’s printing.
  • If there are any stuck print jobs, click Cancel All Documents and restart your printer.

Restart the Print Spooler Service:

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  • Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click, and select Restart.

Check for Paper Jams or Open Doors:

  • Make sure there are no paper jams inside the printer.
  • Check that all doors and trays are fully closed.

Try a Different Connection Method:

  • If you're using USB, try a different port or cable.
  • If you're using Wi-Fi, restart your router and reconnect the printer.

Update or Reinstall the Printer Drivers:

  • Download the latest drivers from HP official website.
  • Uninstall the printer from Devices and Printers and reinstall it with updated drivers.

If your printer still shows as "Busy" after these steps, let me know! We’ll keep troubleshooting until we get it working. 😊
