@Warhammer2, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
he error code 0x83c0000a on your HP ENVY 4500 printer typically indicates a firmware or internal hardware issue that a basic reset might not resolve.
Since you've already tried unplugging and waiting for 60 seconds, here are a few additional steps you can try:
Perform a Hard Reset
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips).
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it on.
Check for Cartridge Issues
- Open the cartridge access door and remove both cartridges.
- Check for any ink buildup or debris on the contacts.
- Reinsert the cartridges firmly and close the door.
- If the error persists, try using a different set of cartridges if available.
Update Printer Firmware
- Download and install the latest firmware for your printer from the HP ENVY 4500 support page.
- Follow the instructions to update the firmware using a USB connection or HP Smart app.
Use HP Smart Diagnose & Fix Tool
- If you're using Windows or macOS, install the HP Smart app.
- Open the app and go to "Diagnose & Fix" to automatically detect and resolve common issues.
Use Diagnose & Fix in HP Smart to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support
Factory Reset (if accessible)
- If the printer menu is responsive, navigate to:
- Setup > Tools > Restore Defaults
- This will reset the printer to factory settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
