Hi @Lizzy104,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error with the flashing "E" and "0" on your HP Envy 6455e after changing cartridges may indicate an issue related to the printer's settings or an expired Instant Ink subscription. Here are some steps to resolve this issue.

Check Ink Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure the new cartridges are correctly installed. Remove them and reinstall, making sure they click into place.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source and leave it unplugged for about 60 seconds. Plug it back in and try printing again.

Check for Instant Ink Activation:

  • Even if you canceled Instant Ink, the printer might still be trying to use the Instant Ink service. Make sure that your printer is no longer associated with Instant Ink.
  • If the printer is still looking for an Instant Ink subscription, you may need to deactivate Instant Ink via your HP account:
    • Go to the HP Instant Ink website and log in to your account.
    • Make sure your printer is no longer enrolled in the service. If it still is, remove the printer from the account.

Use Standard Cartridges:

  • If the printer is still not recognizing the new cartridges as valid, try resetting the printer and see if it switches to standard printing mode. You can also check for a way to disable Instant Ink under the printer settings via the HP Smart app or printer's web interface.

Firmware Update:

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, a firmware update can fix issues with non-Instant Ink cartridges.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
