Hello Jay,
I followed the procedure and connected the printer to the TCP/IP Port. I tried to print from both Word and a PDF. In both cases it went through a try of paper printing gibberish. So I didnt get the error again but still not printing.

Can you reset the printer and then try-
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Keep me posted!

Jay,
I reset the printer per your instructions. while it was powered on, I unplugged the cord at the back of the printer and at the wall. I waited about 15 minutes then plugged it back in. After it went through the startup and connected to the network, It continued spewing pages of gibberish until I turned the power off. I waited then turned it on again and it resumed spewing random characters until the paper tray was empty.

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
If the issue persists, we will have to perform a factory reset on the printer.
I have sent you the steps in a private message, check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Let me know how this goes.

Hi Kumar,
I successfully made a standalone copy using both the flatbed and the document feeder. Should I proceed with the factory reset?
One thing that puzzles me is that I can print successfully from my iphone. I will get a message saying the printer is off line but if I press continue, it will eventually print. But no application on my dell laptop will print. Does that suggest that the problem is with the drivers on the laptop?

If you are able to make copies on the printer, it means the hardware is working fine.
If you are able to print from your iPhone with no issues, we can conclude that the issue is with the printer drivers on the laptop. Since we have tried all the possible methods to install the printer driver and it was not successful, I think this issue needs some additional technical assistance that can be better provided through one-on-one interaction or a remote session with our HP Support team.
Please reach out to the HP Support in your region for further assistance.
