My printer used to work now it doesn't  I bought at 61xl but the lady at the store said the xl should not be the problem. that just means more ink. After reading do not touch the metalic part of the cartridge I may have messed up the first one but I did not touch the second one. I unpluged the printer. It prints out an alignment page. but I can nto get it to make a copy of it or print from the comand from the computer.

@ANNARuth0927,

I understand you are facing alignment issues with your Deskjet 2546 printer. Please note that you can always choose “Skip” to continue printing. You can try cleaning the “printhead” once and the print a new alignment sheet to check.

  • Open the HP Print Assistant (Double-click the printer icon on the desktop) – Go to settings / maintain your printer.
  • Please find and perform the clean print head / cartridge option.
  • Once the cleaning is done, then try to align the printer again from the same location.

You can check HP Inkjet Printers - 'Alignment Unsuccessful' Error Message Displays for detailed information.

If you have followed the steps suggested and still having the issue. I would recommend you contact our HP phone support for further assistance.
