I continue to receive Print Error message C8.92.C2.00 with FW version 6.23.2.13-202411250545. I reset and later get the same message again. I have unplugged to reset and still get the same message. Sometimes it will go a day or two but keeps returning. Looking right now I see error code CA.D3.25.0B, a new one. How do I fix this?

@GAMCCRAW, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding an error message in your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
The error codes C8.92.C2.00 and CA.D3.25.0B on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 All-in-One Printer running Windows 11 indicate a firmware-related or hardware communication issue. Since resetting and power cycling haven't provided a permanent fix, here are some steps to troubleshoot:
Update the Printer Firmware
Since you are already on FW version 6.23.2.13-202411250545, it's possible that HP has released an update to address these issues.
- Go to HP Support and check for any new firmware updates.
- If an update is available, download and install it following HP’s instructions.
Check for Windows Updates
- Open Settings > Windows Update and ensure your system is up to date.
- Also, update the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store if you are using it.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Run the tool and let it diagnose your printer.
- Follow any recommended fixes.
Perform a Semi-Full Reset
A semi-full reset can clear deeper firmware issues:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Wait 1-2 minutes.
- Press and hold the Power button and Back button (if available) while plugging it back in.
- Release the buttons when the HP logo appears.
- Set up the printer again.

Check for Hardware Issues
- Inspect the power cable and adapter – Ensure you're using the original HP power cable.
- Remove and reinsert ink cartridges – Take them out, check for debris, and reinsert.
- Test with a different outlet – Try plugging the printer into a different power source.
Perform a Factory Reset (Last Resort)
If the issue persists:
- Open the printer menu.
- Navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
- Confirm the reset and set up the printer again.
Let me know if you need further clarification! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
