Hi @HarryFS,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you don't have the setup cartridges for your HP OfficeJet Pro 6960 printer, there are still ways to set up and use the printer, although it might be a bit more involved. The setup cartridges are typically used to initialize the printer and get it ready for use, but you can bypass this requirement with some alternative methods.

  • Standard Ink Cartridges: If you have standard ink cartridges for your printer, you can try installing them and see if the printer allows you to set it up without the setup cartridges. Sometimes, the setup process can proceed with regular ink cartridges.
  • Factory Reset: If you previously set up the printer and are trying to reset it, you might not need the setup cartridges. You can perform a factory reset on your printer to erase all settings and start the setup process from scratch.
  • Purchase Replacement Setup Cartridges: As a last resort, you can try to purchase replacement setup cartridges directly from HP or an authorized HP reseller. These cartridges are designed to get your printer up and running, and they are usually available for purchase.

Keep in mind that while it's possible to set up your printer without the setup cartridges using some of these methods, your printer may not function correctly if it's not properly initialized.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
