Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with the printer. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Follow these steps to reset the printer.

Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Wait at least 60 seconds.

Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

   NOTE:

HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Keep me posted. 🙂

Hi Barachiel,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately my problem still persists. After following your instructions to the letter, I tried to print a document. The printer icon appeared in the taskbar with the message "1 item waiting to print". The power button started to blink, but after about a minute it stopped, the printer icon disappeared from the taskbar, and in "Show hidden icons" it appeared with the message "0 items waiting to print".

I am baffled, don't know what to do?

Regards...……..Mike

Thanks for the reply.

Does copy work's fine when you try to do it from the printer itself?

If it doesn't then it's an issue with the printer itself.
