Hi @ZZB1

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are the steps you can follow to address the Event Code 71.02.4B error on your printer:

Power Reset

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cable directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors or extension cords).
  • Turn the printer back on.

Check Internal Connections

  • Open the printer access door carefully.
  • Ensure that all toner cartridges and imaging units are seated properly.
  • Verify that no protective covers, packing material, or obstructions remain inside.

Inspect Paper Path

  • Remove the paper tray and check for any jammed or misaligned sheets.
  • Inspect rollers and guides to ensure they are clean and free of debris.
  • Reload paper correctly and ensure the tray is not overfilled.

Update Firmware

  • On Windows or macOS, open the HP App.
  • Navigate to printer settings and check for firmware updates.
  • Install any available updates, then restart the printer.

Run Diagnostics

  • In the HP App, use the “Diagnose & Fix” tool.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to identify and resolve detected issues.

Check Environment

  • Ensure the printer is placed on a stable, flat surface.
  • Avoid areas with excessive dust, humidity, or heat, which can affect sensors and rollers.

If the error persists after these steps, it indicates a deeper hardware or sensor issue. At that point, service options would need to be considered, but you can decide the next course of action.
