I get printer error C9.A9.60.0B it says critical system error has occurred. Restart printer and try again. If the problem persists contact your support representative.

FW Version:

6.23.1.17-2202408092238

I can restart and use the printer, but if it sit for a while I get the same error the next time I want to use it.  This is a brand new HP OfficeJet 9125e I have only had it two days.  When I set it up the first thing it did was download and install the firmware update listed above, and I have been getting the error from the start.  It makes me think the error has something to do with the firmware update.  I did see somewhere that this error indicates a weak or intermittent network connection, but the signal is excellent and I am connected by ethernet.  I have numerous other devices on my network and they all work fine.  I removed the printer and reinstalled and rebooted everything. it seems like whenever the printer goes to sleep this error happens.  It is really frustrating since this is a brand new printer.  If I can't resolve this I am going to have to return the printer.   My OS is MAC OS Sequoia 15.0.1

Hi @Wallist,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e. The error code C9.A9.60.0B can indeed be frustrating, especially with a new printer. Since it occurs when the printer goes to sleep, it may relate to the firmware or power management settings.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Power Settings Adjustment:

  • Access the printer’s control panel.
  • Go to the settings menu and look for power management options.
  • Try adjusting the sleep or auto-off settings to a longer duration or disabling them temporarily to see if the error persists.

Firmware Update:

  • Since the firmware was updated upon setup, check if there's a newer version available. You can do this from the HP Smart app or the printer’s web interface.
  • If the issue continues, consider reinstalling the firmware. Sometimes a reinstallation can resolve glitches.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset. This can usually be done from the settings menu on the printer. Be sure to note any specific configurations you want to keep.

Network Settings:

  • Since you’re connected via Ethernet, ensure the cable is secure and try a different port on your router if possible.
  • Check for any IP address conflicts on your network by accessing your router’s admin panel.

Check for Error Logs:

  • If possible, access the printer's internal logs (through the web interface) to see if there are any additional error messages that can provide clues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
