HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer

My printer showed an error after which I tried to do a diagnostic.  None of the diagnostic elements could complete.  The error was OXD8077900.  Can anyone help?

Hi @dmr71,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code OXD8077900 on an HP printer like the ENVY 5055 usually indicates a connectivity or communication problem between the printer and the computer. Here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check the Basics:

  • Make sure that the printer is turned on and properly connected to your computer or network.
  • Verify that the USB or network cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
  • If you are using a wireless connection, ensure that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Restart Devices:

  • Power off both the printer and the computer.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds and then power them back on.
  • Try running the diagnostic again to see if the issue persists.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your HP ENVY 5055 printer. You can visit the HP official website to download and install the latest drivers.

Check Network Connection:

  • If you are using a wireless connection, make sure that the Wi-Fi signal is stable and strong.
  • Consider restarting your router to refresh the network connection.

Firewall and Antivirus Software:

  • Check if your firewall or antivirus software is blocking the communication between the printer and the computer. Temporarily disable them and see if the issue is resolved.

USB Port and Cable:

  • If you are using a USB connection, try using a different USB port on your computer. Also, test with a different USB cable if available.

Reset Printer and Computer:

  • Perform a power cycle by turning off the printer and unplugging it from the power source. Also, restart your computer.
  • Plug the printer back in and power it on after a few minutes.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall the printer software from your computer and then reinstall it. This can help resolve any software-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
