Hi @dharlin1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP 7155 printer has stopped printing color but is still able to print black, there are a few potential reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the problem.

  • Check ink levels: Ensure that the color ink cartridges have enough ink. Low ink levels might prevent the printer from printing in color. You can check the ink levels through the printer's control panel or by using the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Clean the printhead: Over time, the printhead can get clogged with dried ink, which can affect color printing. Most printers have a printhead cleaning utility that you can access through the printer's control panel or software on your computer. Run a printhead cleaning cycle to clear any clogs.
  • Perform a nozzle check: Many printers have a nozzle check or alignment function that helps diagnose printing issues. This test will show you if there are any gaps or missing colors in the printed pattern, indicating a problem with the printhead or ink cartridges.
  • Update printer drivers: Outdated or corrupt printer drivers can cause printing problems. Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can download the drivers from the HP website or use the HP Smart app to automatically update them.
  • Check printer settings: Verify that the color settings on the printer and in your print dialog box are correct. Ensure that the printer is set to print in color and not grayscale or black and white.
  • Check for software conflicts: Some third-party applications or antivirus software can interfere with printing. Temporarily disable any non-essential applications and try printing again.
  • Reset the printer: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can try resetting the printer to its default settings. Refer to the printer's user manual or the HP website for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
  • Replace color ink cartridges: If all else fails, it's possible that the color ink cartridges might be faulty or expired. Consider replacing them with new, genuine HP cartridges to see if that resolves the problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
