MFP M283fdw

I have a Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M283fdw printer and the control screen is black.  I have used this printer for over 2 years with no major issues.  Now the printer won't wake up by pressing the home button on the control panel.  I also tried recycling the power and the screen is still black.  The printer has an assigned IP address.  Before this issue I was able to access printer settings through a web browser but now it won't respond either.  I saw a previous post by Anand_Andy regarding an NVRAM reset  lHP LaserJet Pro M283 M283fdw control panel is all black - HP Support Community - 8496483

 

any help is appreciated.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

 

I see that you are facing an issue with your printer.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

 

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

 

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Thank-you for the response.  I performed the steps listed for a power drain and unfortunately the problem is still present.  The control screen is black and I still can't  access the printer over the network.  In addition, the printer firmware cannot be updated because the methods to update require either a working control screen or the printer to be visible on the network.
