Photosmart 6510
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My photosmart 6510 is not printing black ink. Have replaced the cartridge and tried all cleaning options. I understand that the tubes can be come blocked and need cleaning thru, but this means dismantling the inner workings? Any suggestions please?

Thank you

Simon

Yes, I'm afraid it's a hardware issue. You may contact the HP Support Team as mentioned in my earlier post for further options.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Are you able to copy in black?

Let's align the Printer:

On the product control panel, touch OK. The alignment page prints.

If the product does not automatically print an alignment page, follow these steps:

  1. From the home screen, touch the Setup icon (), and then touch Tools.

  2. Touch the Down Arrow (), and then touch Align Printer. The alignment page prints.

If you have tried all the steps from this document: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-photosmart-6510-e-all-in-one-printer-series-b211/5058334/mod..., I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team as this could be a hardware issue.

Hi - thank you for the reply.

it will not copy in Black - any print is extremely faint and unreadable. have to use dark blue for any text documents and that is fine,

I have tried all the options under Tools on the front panel.

I have even attempted to clean the Black print head with iso-propyl alcohol and no joy.

Looks as if the printer is beyond redemption, as any repairs will probably be more expensive than replacing the printer.

The printer is old and out of any warranty - so could dismantle, clean and reassemble!!

Regards
