Error message just states there is an unknown problem with the printer head.  When I went to customer support I was informed that HP no longer services this model

Welcome to the HP Community @mickster71🙂

I wanted to reach out to the issue you're having with the printhead in your Photosmart C510 printer. See the link below to see if those steps can help with the issue. If not, then you are looking at needing a new printer. You can call phone support to see what your trade in options are if that happens.

'Ink System Failure' or '0x ...' Error Code Displays

Hit the "Accept as Solution" if we've reached a solution, and the "thumbs up" to say thanks for my help.

I followed your suggested procedure for the printer head, finally removing , and cleaning the printer head. lastly I unplugged and restarted the printer and voilá! it works again!

Thanks

A follow up question: The "tablet" attachment for the C510 gone bad (battery expanded and popped open the back)

The printer still works.  Is there any need to replace the tablet?

Hey there mickster71,

I am glad the printer works again!:D As for the docking station, I would suggest having one that works yes. You can call HP's phone team to see if that is something they can replace for you. Their contact details are in my last message.

If you have any problems, please let me know:)

Enjoy your Thursday!
