Hi @Englishepiphany,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Experiencing the need to unplug and restart your printer every time you want to print can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.

  • Check for Software Updates: Ensure that your printer's firmware and software drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers and firmware for your HP 7300 Smart Tank Series printer.
  • Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, issues can be related to the computer rather than the printer. Try restarting your computer to see if it resolves the problem.
  • Connection Issues: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If you are using a USB connection, try using a different USB port. If it's a wireless connection, make sure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
  • Paper and Ink Levels: Make sure that there is enough paper in the tray and sufficient ink in the ink tanks. Low ink levels or paper jams can sometimes cause printing issues.
  • Printer Queue: Check the printer queue on your computer to see if there are any pending print jobs or errors. Clear any stuck print jobs.
  • Power Cycle the Printer: Instead of unplugging and replugging the printer, try turning it off using the power button, waiting for a minute, and then turning it back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
  • Reset Printer Settings: Access the printer settings and try resetting them to default. This can be done through the printer's control panel or the accompanying software on your computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
