Hi @Sudesh00110,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Ink Tank 316 printer is not printing cyan and yellow, resulting in a pinkish print, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

1. Check Ink Levels

  • Ensure that the cyan and yellow ink levels are adequate. If they are low or empty, refill the ink tanks with the appropriate HP ink.

2. Run Printhead Cleaning

  • Use the printer's built-in cleaning feature to clean the printhead:
    1. Open the HP Smart app on your computer or access the printer's control panel.
    2. Locate the Maintenance or Tools menu.
    3. Select Clean Printhead or a similar option.
    4. Follow the prompts to start the cleaning process.
  • You may need to repeat the cleaning process a couple of times.

3. Print a Test Page

  • After cleaning, print a test page to check if the colors are being printed correctly.
  • If the problem persists, proceed to the next step.

4. Manually Clean the Printhead  How to Clean Printer Heads: A Guide to Better Ink Efficiency

  • If automatic cleaning doesn't work, you might need to clean the printhead manually:
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    2. Open the printer to access the printhead.
    3. Remove the printhead carefully, following the user manual instructions.
    4. Gently wipe the nozzles with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water or an isopropyl alcohol solution.
    5. Allow the printhead to dry completely before reinserting it.

5. Check for Air Bubbles in Ink Lines

  • Sometimes air bubbles in the ink lines can block ink flow:
    1. Inspect the ink lines for gaps or bubbles.
    2. If bubbles are present, perform the ink priming procedure. This process varies by printer, so consult your printer's manual for instructions.

6. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware and drivers are up-to-date:
    1. Visit the HP Support website.
    2. Download the latest firmware and driver updates for your HP Ink Tank 316.
    3. Install them and restart the printer.

7. Check for Clogs in the Ink Delivery System

  • If cyan and yellow still don’t print, the ink delivery system may be clogged or blocked. Contact HP support for further assistance or servicing.

8. Replace the Printhead

  • If none of the above steps work, the printhead might be defective and need replacement. You can purchase a replacement printhead from HP or an authorized dealer.
