Hi @1Neice

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The red blinking light on your Samsung ML-2164 printer usually indicates an error, such as a paper jam, low toner, or some other issue preventing the printer from printing. Here are a few steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check for Paper Jams

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the printer cover and carefully check for any paper jams inside the printer, including in the paper tray, fuser, and around the toner cartridge.
  • Remove any jammed paper carefully to avoid damaging the printer.
  • Once you've checked and cleared the paper path, close the cover and plug the printer back in.

2. Check the Toner Cartridge

  • Open the printer cover and check if the toner cartridge is properly seated.
  • Remove and reinstall the toner cartridge to ensure it’s securely in place.
  • If the toner level is low or the cartridge is empty, you may need to replace the toner cartridge.

3. Check the Paper Tray

  • Ensure the paper tray is loaded properly with paper. Sometimes, the printer can show a red blinking light if there’s an issue with the paper feed (e.g., paper not aligned correctly, or no paper in the tray).
  • Make sure the paper is not wrinkled or jammed in the paper tray.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for about 1 minute.
  • Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and see if the red light stops blinking.

5. Check for Printer Driver Issues

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
