The paper doesn't pull in anymore ... error message 03

I understand you are getting error code 03 on an HP LaserJet MFP M28-M31 usually indicates a paper jam. 

 

Here's what you can try to resolve the issue:

 

  • Check for paper jams: Open the printer's input and output trays, as well as the toner cartridge area, and remove any stuck paper carefully.
  • Inspect paper path: Look for any torn pieces of paper or foreign objects obstructing the paper path. Use a flashlight if necessary to get a better view.
  • Reset the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Clean the paper feed rollers: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate on the paper feed rollers, causing them to slip. Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or isopropyl alcohol.
  • Check paper condition: Ensure that the paper you are using is not too old, curled, or wrinkled. Also, verify that it is within the printer's supported paper specifications.
  • Adjust paper guides: Make sure the paper guides in the input tray are correctly positioned to hold the paper in place.
  • Update printer firmware: Sometimes, firmware updates address known issues and bugs, including paper feed problems. Check HP's website for any available updates for your printer model and follow the instructions to install them. Update the firmware on an HP printer
