Brand new HP8132 printing start up issue

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

We are sorry to hear that the brandnew printer is giving you startup trouble.

 

A brand-new HP OfficeJet 8132 having a startup/printing issue is usually related to initial setup, ink, or connection and is almost always fixable.

 

Step 1: Perform a full power reset

(This clears first-time startup glitches)

Turn the printer ON

Unplug the power cord from the printer

Unplug the cord from the wall outlet

Wait 60 seconds

Plug the cord directly into a wall outlet (no extension)

Turn the printer back ON

 

Step 2: Check ink cartridge installation

 

Startup issues often happen if ink isn’t seated correctly.

Open the ink access door

Remove all cartridges

Check:

Orange protective tape is fully removed

No packaging material left inside

Reinsert cartridges firmly until they click

Close the door

The printer should now initialize.

 

Step 3: Load paper correctly

 

Pull out the input tray

Load plain A4/Letter paper

Adjust the paper guides so they touch the paper

Reinsert the tray fully

 

Step 4: Complete setup using HP Smart (required)

 

The HP 8132 will not print until setup is completed.

Install HP Smart on your phone or computer

Open the app

Select Set up a new printer

Follow on-screen steps (Wi-Fi, ink alignment, updates)

 

📌 Make sure the printer and device are on the same Wi-Fi network.

 

Step 5: Print a test page

 

From HP Smart:

Go to Printer Settings

Select Print Test Page

 

This should fix the issue.
