I'm getting error code E3 on my HP Desk Jet 3755.  The resolution of opening the cartridge access door, moving the cartridge to the right, and pressing the resume button makes the lights stop flashing.  Also, the cartridge will not move.  Doing this just stops the lights from flashing.  The error code comes back as soon as i try to print or make a copy.

The controller cannot make the carriage move.  There's either problem with the controller or there's something blocking it.

If you can move the carriage with your hand but the motor cannot move it then there's a hardware problem
