I just bought a new modum for the WiFi connection, and I have lost the old WiFi connection. Therefore the printer has to be connected to the wireless network again, so that I can print again. Anyone who can help? I have no idea where to start.

Replacing/changing your wireless router, try here.

http://www.hp.com/global/au/en/wireless/reconfiguring-system-help3.html

Make sure your router is set to a fixed wireless channel like 1, 6 or 11, never ‘auto’.  Try channel 1 first then the others one at a time.  Make sure printer and router are at least 5 feet apart.

Make and model of modem and router?

However if you have a Gateway (modem+router) device, all Gateway devices are terrible for wireless performance and connectivity.   If this does not work, suggest you put that gateway device in full bridge mode and install your own high quality router that YOU have full control over.

I'm sorry, I'm not that clever in this field.. There's no setup wizard on the printer itself and I do not have any USB cable anymore.. What do I have to do now?

You need to go buy a printer USB cable like this.

https://www.amazon.com/Printer-Ugreen-Scanner-Lexmark-Samsung/dp/B00P0FO1P0/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1...

Then go to the HP web site here and read the User Guide on  how to reinstall your printer on your MAC.

Click on 'How to'.

Hi,

Follow these steps to connect the printer to your new router manually as a full featured software is not available for your OS:

  1. Restore the network defaults:
    1.jpg
  2. Turn the printer off and back On.
  3. Turn the wireless radio ON:
    2.JPG
  4. Click the WiFi icon on your Mac and connect the shown hpsetup SSID, allow it 2 minutes to connect.
Note: if it isn't listed click Join Other Network and then Show Networks.
  5. Open Safari, from the Bookmark menu select Bonjour and then click the shown printer name to access the printer homepage.
Note: if no Bonjour option is displayed, click Safari > Preferences, from the Advanced tab check the box next to 'Include Bonjour ink the Bookmarks menu' and close that dialog.
  6. From the pritner homepage open the Wireless tab, from there look for Wireless Setup Wizard or a Wireless tab, you will see there the option to select your router's SSID.
  7. Follow the steps on screen to connect to your new router, the blue wireless light should solid lit.
  8. Reconnect your Mac to your home network and try printing.

Thanks for the screenshots, it is higly helpful as this is an older model and the steps are quite difference from today's printers.. 🙂

Check the box next to Infrastructure insead the currently selected 'Ad Hoc' option, then you should be able to select your network.

Please let me know of any problem,
