If you get a printer error that says: Remove and reinstall  the indicated print cartridge on a go smart tank 651….

You have the cartridges that you refill and do not remove… but YOU HAVE MORE HIDDEN ONES INSIDE!!

so sit yourself at a table with your printer and a flashlight. Open all the doors. There is ONE MORE door further inside the printer… just keep exploring!

When you do finally pull it down, you will be able to see the track and the printer bottles that RECEIVE your ink from up front…there is a one for color on the left and one for black on the right. (And I’m not talking about the reservoir tanks you fill up). Using your flashlight you will see an arrow that indicates to push down. As soon as you push it down, it releases a lock and flips up and the bottles will move fast!! Pull your hand out and let it find its resting place.

then turn the machine completely off.

reach in and pull the snug cartridge out by doing a combination of pushing down and pulling towards you. I just kept wiggling bcz it said it did come out!

bottom line, it came out and I wiped the ink cartridge with a dry soft cloth to remove ink and debris or dust from the computer tape.

i reinserted the color one and did the black one too for kicks… but it actually was clean!

after I installed both AND PUSH THE TOP LID DOWN to lock them both in place, I closed everything up and turned the power on.

it worked!! If this old lady can figure it out, YOU CAN TOO!! Just be patient.

hope this helps you!

It's no wonder this is the first question up on this page.

What a ridiculous thing to have to figure out. Thanks, HP
