HP ENVY Photo 6232 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello !Excuse my english... french user.

My printer is blocked, cannot connect to Wifi.

The indication on the printer screen is "This cartidge needs inscription of the printer to HP Instant Ink".

I have always been using instant ink on the printer ; this occurred suddenly, without having changed anything on the computer or printer.

The Wifi has been controlled by the provider : everything is working correctly... except the printer.

Please HELP !

Hi @Gaga42 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY Photo 6232 printer is encountering an issue where it’s stuck on the "cartridge needs inscription of the printer to HP Instant Ink" message. This can happen when the printer is having trouble communicating with the Instant Ink service or recognizing your cartridges.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

1. Restart the Printer and Router

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the power outlet for at least 30 seconds.
  • Restart your router by unplugging it for a minute and then plugging it back in.
  • After everything is back on, try to power the printer on again and check if the issue is resolved.

2. Check the Cartridge

  • Remove the cartridge and reinsert it to make sure it's seated correctly.
  • Check if the cartridge is genuine HP Instant Ink-compatible.
  • If the cartridge is low or expired, you might need to replace it.

3. Check the HP Instant Ink Status

  • Go to the HP Instant Ink website (www.hpinstantink.com) and log in to your account to check if there’s any issue with your subscription or if any actions are required.
  • If needed, ensure that the printer is properly registered to your HP Instant Ink account.

4. Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi

  • From the printer screen, go to the Wi-Fi setup option and try reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Ensure that your printer is within range of the Wi-Fi and the connection is stable.

5. Update Printer Firmware

  • Check for any available firmware updates by visiting HP Support on your computer and selecting your printer model. Install any updates if available.

6. Re-register Your Printer with Instant Ink

  • On the printer screen, follow the instructions to re-register your printer with HP Instant Ink.
  • Alternatively, you can also log in to your HP Instant Ink account and re-link your printer from there.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
