Photosmart D7360
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

How can I fix my D7360  Photosmart printer?  It has an Ink System Failure message and an error code 0xc18a0106.  It is out of warrantee so unless there is a special trade  in program, its mine.

@RBSSM,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the printer was working fine?
  • Is the carriage moving?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

While you respond to that, I recommend you follow the below steps and check whether the issue is resolved.

1.With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

2.Remove USB cable, if present.

3.Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

4.Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

5.Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

If you continue facing the issue, please follow the below steps and test.

  1. Lift the top cover.

  2. Locate the ink cartridge indicated in the error message. Squeeze the gray tab below the cartridge slot to release the latch and then lift the latch.

  3. Remove the cartridge indicated in the error message.

  4. Gather the following cleaning materials:

    • Distilled, filtered, or bottled water. Do not use tap water, alcohol, or platen cleaners.

    • Lint-free cloth or swab. Eyeglass wipes and coffee filters work well.

  5. Lightly moisten the swab or cloth and squeeze out the excess moisture.

  6. Holding the cartridge by its handle, wipe the copper contacts.

  7. Replace the cartridge and then close the latch and the printer top cover.

  8. Check the printer for the error message. If the error message continues, go to the next step.

       NOTE:

The printer might take up to 15 seconds to clear the error and recognize the cartridge after closing the cover.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!
