When I turn on my printer it goes straight to a screen saying that my there is a problem with my blue ink cartridge/that it has run out and will not let me go past this page, it only gives me the option to turn off my printer. However, when I go to change my ink cartridges (which are not empty, but all full), the ink tray does not move across so I can access and change them? Does anyone know what the problem is here and how I can fix it?
Or how I can go past this page and continue using the printer as normal, as even if my blue cartridge is damaged, my black is fine and I should be able to use it as normal! Kinda fustrating!
Thank you !!

Hi @elleojelleoj,
Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! This is a great location to get resolutions and interact with experts from the community. I came across your post and wanted to assist you.
I understand that you are getting the “Ink Cartridge Door open” message on your printer. I will certainly try and help you fix this error.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you checked for any obstructions inside the printer?
Are you able to move the carriage freely?
Try the steps below:
- Remove the cartridges from the printer.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Now, open and then close the cartridge access door of your printer. Make sure the cartridge is closed tightly.
- Repeat the exercise for your input tray and ADF door.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle and then insert the cartridges and check.
Also, check the steps mentioned here if the issue persists: http://hp.care/2dSUBf0
