Ink tank 415

Ink from a new bottle will not drain into tank of Ink tank 415. I bought the printer 2 months ago, it came with four bottles of ink which I used to fill tanks - worked with not problems. Now I'm trying to refill the black ink tank from a new bottle of ink.  When I connect the bottle to the ink nozzle it won't drain into the tank. The ink does pool around the lid so I know that ink flows from the bottle. There do not seem to be any obstructions at the level of the nozzle.

I removed and reinstalled the printheads, thinking maybe that would help, but it didn't.

Thank you for your help!

The ink still isn't draining from the bottle into the tank! But it appears that no one in this forum has any advice. However - I really need to find a solution! I'd appreicate any advice that might lead me to finding an answer. Any ideas?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Let us try these steps that may resolve this issue:

  1. Open the ink tank lid.

    Open lid
  2. Remove the plug from the ink tank you are refilling.

       CAUTION:

There might be ink on the underside of the plug. Place the plug upright to avoid ink transfer.

    Remove the tank plug
  3. Remove the cap from the ink bottle, pull the seal tab off, replace the cap, and then flip open the lid.

    Remove the cap and seal
  4. Hold the ink bottle on the tank spout, gently push down, and then let the ink drain into the ink tank. Fill the ink tank to just below the maximum fill line on the tank.

If the bottle does not start draining, remove and reinsert the bottle onto the tank spout. Do not squeeze the bottle.

       CAUTION:

Do not squeeze the bottle, and do not overfill the ink tank.

  5. After the ink tank is filled, pull the ink bottle straight up.

Close the ink bottle lid, set the bottle upright, and then push the ink tank plug into its slot on the ink tank.

    Replace the plug
  6. Make sure the ink tank plugs are pressed firmly into place.

  7. Repeat the previous steps to fill any other low or empty ink tanks.

       CAUTION:

Store any bottle with remaining ink in a cool, dry place for later use.

Kumar, thank you for your input! I followed these steps as I set up my printer a few months ago, and it went well. But now I have a problem that goes beyond these instructions. I will connect with the support team as you've advised. Thanks again.
